How do we build a tank at the customer’s location?
Transporting large tanks can often be a challenge. While many options are available, moving tanks by road or water is not always an attractive solution. With our self-developed coil building system, we efficiently produce tanks on site anywhere in the world. This allows us to build the complete tank directly on your premises using a safe and efficient method.
Production
Various containers filled with materials and machinery are transported to the site, after which our team consisting of a supervisor and welders installs our proprietary coil building system as the foundation for the tank construction.
The roller then unwinds the coil for a single shell section, after which the weld is fully automated using plasma welding. Once the first shell section is completed, computer controlled hydraulic lifts raise it to allow the next section to be added in the same way. This way, we can continue building at a workable height. The tank grows from the bottom up.
Minimal space, maximum efficiency
Thanks to our system, we can build directly on the tank foundation, minimizing the required construction space. This approach is not only efficient but also requires minimal crane operations and enables safe working from ground level.
Materials
Gpi Tanks XL exclusively builds tanks from stainless steel or duplex. Due to their strength and corrosion resistant properties, a suitable grade of stainless steel or duplex is available for almost every industry and application.
We frequently work with stainless steel 304(L), 316(L), and various types of duplex such as Lean Duplex 2101 and Duplex 2205. These materials can also be combined to create an efficient and optimized design. Other materials are available upon request.
