Gpi designed and manufactured two chemical storage tanks for a customer in the chemical industry. Both tanks are made of duplex 2205.
The project includes a tank with a capacity of 280m³ and a diameter of 6.8 meters and a height of almost 7.7 meters. This tank is for a large part prefabricated in our factory in order to monitor the completion time. Both the top and the bottom and two fuselage parts were transported to the customer from our production site at night using special transport. In addition, a 960m3 tank with a diameter of 9.5 meters and 13.5 meters high was built on location using our decoil machine.
EN14015 & PGS 29
Both tanks are built according to NEN-EN14015 and have a double bottom which functions as a leak detection bottom as these tanks also fall within the PGS29 directive. The space between the double bottoms is under a light vacuum which is provided with a leak detection sensor in order to monitor the density. Both tanks are also equipped with a cage ladder, top railing and anti-slip tape on the top to be able to work safely on the roof. The cage ladder and top railing are executed in accordance with the NEN-EN1090. As shown on the photo, this has led to two beautiful storage tanks and Gpi has completed the project to the satisfaction of the customer!
